Worst Shingles Ever with BAD Warranty

Pros
cheap
Cons
Best Uses
Comment:
Installed 12 years ago, granuals have all washed off, shingles are worn away, serious leak in ceiling after recent rain, inspector found 60% of roof is paper thin, granuals are gone, shingles curled and torn. Do not buy anything from Owens Corning. There are class action suits in Florida and Texas, you'll end up in one if you buy this junk.

Comment:
These shingles are advertised as being guranteed for 40 years. They were installed in 1999 by one of the most trusted roofing companies in our metropolitan area. Twice they have developed leaks that damaged our ceiling. The majority of the shingles have premature cracks in them which can lead to leaks. The company admits to manufacturing problems but their warrenty process is very time-consuming and the ultimate reimbursement, if a consumer's claim is approved, is very little. They prorate the cost of materials but provide nothing for the labor involved.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
