I only purchased the Tamko Heritage 30 because at the time they were the only one that offered mildew resistant. After one year not only did they develop mildew but they also had some leaks. I contacted Tamko only to get the run around. I was told it was not mildew but algae on my roof and the leak was because they were installed incorrectly. The truth is that it was mildew and the leaks are due to insufficient tar on the shingles for them to seal properly. I had to have the entire roof gone over where all the shingles were individually resealed with tar. I should have listened to my contractor and used GAF shingles. Avoid using Tamko and save yourself problems.

These are the thinnest shingles I have ever seen and seriously lacking enough tar to make them effectively stick together.
Hence, shingles fly off like frisbies = water falls in side the house in the middle of the night during storm and stains on the ceilings of every room.
DON'T BUY TAMKO!!!!!

I have tamko's shingles and have had no shingles flying off in wind. Got to wonder
if the installer used shingle nails that were too short. My biggest concern has been color loss. Black turns to grey much too soon on a 50 year shingle.

Remember you get what you pay for. heaver /thicker shingles last longer
