Good results for me

How odd other people have had problems with this. I have two huge, playful Golden Retrievers who scratch the deck, plus I shovel snow off the deck often. The only problem I have is scratches from the dogs and shovels. I do a light pressure washing twice a year then paint the entire deck in two hours. It looks great and the light color is cool on my bare feet even on the hottest days. I've tried other products and ended up sanding them off. This product works great. Just make VERY sure the surface is clean and dry before painting and for two days after. Then don't walk on it for 4 days after painting.

I applied this product as directed in the summer of 2010. In the summer of 2011, I had to reapply in the areas exposed to sun, rain, etc.; and in traffic areas, because it was starting to peel. This summer, even where I reapplied last year, it has peeled up and looks awful. It doesn't appear to have penetrated the wood at all. So much for latex-based stains. CR has never steered me wrong before, but they're way off base on this one.

Comment:
VERY disappointed in this product. Not sure how CR tested this stain and rated it so high. After one year the stain has peeled. It's not a stain, it is more like paint. Not sure why they call this 6 year stain when you have to reapply yearly. Premium price for a poor product. Now we will have to strip it and find something more suitable. Not even worth trying to go to Behr for refund. From the sounds of others it's hopeless. I am not a Behr customer anymore
