Appearance after three years summarizes performance after one year of our accelerated weathering (i.e. equivalent to one year on a deck or three years on a vertical surface). Testing stops when appearance falls to fair or poor at which time, the product must be reapplied.
Appearance after 6 years:
Appearance after six years summarizes performance after two years of our accelerated weathering (i.e. equivalent to two years on a deck or six years on a vertical surface). Testing stops when appearance falls to fair or poor at which time, the product must be reapplied.

In the fall of 2010, I sanded my pine deck down to bare wood, used the Sherwin pre-treatments, and then applied this solid stain as instructed. By early summer 2011, the deck was peeling, and by early 2013 the deck is peeling on all the boards, and very seriously on the floorboards. Sherwin told me that it was an application error. While that is always possible in theory, I did everything as instructed, and the product did not last. I am in process of having the deck refinished.

Stain peels after 6 months
Use this product in 2010 and within 4 months is began peeling. I waited over a year and paid a professional to stain it the second time. Same thing happened. Within 6 months the stain started to peel. Sherwin Williams is claiming application error again. The product is horrible
