Comment:
I bought this set to replace my old KitchenAid Gourmet Essentials 10 piece set which I've had for 3 ½ years that were showing moderate signs of wear. After taking the new pots and pans out of the box, I quickly noticed how much lighter they weighed compared to my old set. All the pieces had some kind of dark dusting on the black band that wraps around each pot and pan which seem to scratch easily. I hand washed a couple pots at first and after cleaning and polishing, they were truly nothing special. I was not impressed with the craftsmanship of the new pieces when compared to my old KitchenAid set. The Anolon Ultra Clad felt so cheaply made which was quite disappointing considering that they cost 3x more than the KitchenAid set. I ended up contacting Anolon's Customer Service Department inquiring what type of Stainless Steel the set was made of. They indicated that their stainless steel is only 18/0 (18 % chromium and 0% nickel). I finally understood why they felt so cheap. It is not 18/10 stainless like my KitchenAid set. I ended up returning this set and reordering another KitchenAid Gourmet Essential which is 1/3 of the price and much, much better quality.
