My husband purchased me a complete set of Swiss Diamond to replace my 37-year-old Revere Ware Cook Ware. The Swiss Diamond cooks well and cleans up easy and nicely for the most part with a damp cloth. The lids are vented to allow steam to escape with out leaving the lid open. However the set is heavy to handle and when I clean them they tend to scratch up my new cast iron sink. I had to begin only using wood utensils as metal utensils scratched up the inside surface and left dents in the pots and pans and then the coating became damaged. I returned my set to Swiss Diamond for replacement and they said they would honor their warranty and replace them. However I had to pay $65.00 for shipping on UPS to return them that was not covered. I pulled my old Revere Ware out and am now using that once again. My mother gave me this set when I got married 40 years ago. I expected more for a cook ware set that cost over $600.

It took some convincing, to get my wife to spend the money for this set, but the reviews were glowing. The results, though, were disappointing. We carefully followed the seasoning procedures, cleaning recommendations, and didn't machine-wash, use abrasive pads, or use metal spatulas. Still, after a year, 2 of the pans began to flake. The warranty folks said to send them in to them, and they'd check it out. After several weeks, they did replace the pans. Then, after another year, more pans began to flake. Just due to shipping costs, we didn't send them in right away. But once they became so badly flaked, that the non-stick was no longer helpful, we followed their new procedures, and took pictures of the 4 remaining pieces of cookware, and sent the pics to them. In a rapid response only 2 days later, they claimed we used extremely excessive heat and the warranty was voided. My guess is, they were getting too many warranty issues and needed to limit their losses. I feel it's necessary to caution buyers to read the negative reviews first. Most of the positive reviews reflect still-new product, while the truth comes out after a few years of gentle use.
