I use these knives every time I cook. I've had mine for over ten years and they work great. I bought each piece in the knife block one at a time. My first was the 8inch Chef's knife and a paring knife. I received several others. My go-to knife is the santoku. All are easy to sharpen and clean. I never put them in the dishwasher ( seriously, how difficult is t to hand was a knife? Besides, isn't it unsafe to place big knives in a dishwasher?). I recommend these knives to anyone looking for great, quality knives.

Comment:
We've had these knives for at least 10 years. They are comfortable in your hand and hold an edge very well. They are also easy to sharpen if you do it properly. We use the steel and occasionally the Wusthof sharpener. I've never put them through the dishwasher so I can't comment on that. The ones we use most are the 6 utility for just about everything, the 8 chef's knife which is great for mincing garlic or clams, and the bread slicer.

Comment:
Use my Classic set daily. Never use dishwasher and quickly clean and return to the block. Disappointed in how the logo on the handles have held up. They are red in color and now look like they are almost worn off after only 16 months. It is cosmetic to be sure but I bought these for the quality and think Wusthof could do better. They are sharp however and do the job.

Strength
Great set
Weakness
None
I bought this block set for my wife and she has been extremely happy with it. It's actually quite expensive but worth the price. Although it comes with a sharpener, my wife has never asked me to sharpen any knife. As it comes with a lifetime warranty, you may not need to spend any more for knives in your lifetime. Great buy.

Wusthof Classic 8 Piece Set

Strength
Excellent craftmanship, balance, and sharpness.
Weakness
Expensive - But will last a lifetime.
I am very happy with this product. I purchased the 8 piece set because it contained basic knives for everyday use. I have found these knives to be incredibly sharp and well balanced. I purchased the 2 piece Asian set and 6 steak knives to complete the set. I am very satisfied with the purchase and know it will last a lifetime.
