Best knives ever used

Comment:
We have owned these knives for over 10 years and they still perform wonderfully. They're used on a daily basis and steeled each time they're used. The key to keeping them in top performing shape is to never put them in the dishwasher and don't leave them in the sink when other dishes or objects are going to be put in the sink also. The only thing the blades should ever make contact with are the food being cut, the cutting surface and the cleaning tool.

We have had these knives for 5 years now and they are still just like new. I do my own sharpening and they stay sharp for a long time. The balance is great and they cut like a dream. I would buy them again in a heart beat and recommend them to anyone who wants a quality knife that will last a life time.

Very sturdy & high quality set - Absolutely Recommended!

Strength
-Very High quality and sturdy set-Sharp stainless steel blades-Lifetime warranty-Heavy enough handles
Weakness
-Does not come with the boning knife, 6 (longer) utility knife
I bought this Henckels Pro-S 7-piece block set for my wife's Christmas present from Amazon.com. While researching the Four Star and the Pro-S knives, I learned that the only difference was just the handle material. The Pro-S is the same as the Four Star with a more durable material for the handle and with the same blades. At an additional ~$20 for the whole set, it seemed worth it. This set comes with the following items:* 3-inch parer knife* 5-inch serrated utility knife* 5-inch hollow-edge santoku* 8-inch chef's knife* Kitchen shears* 9-inch sharpening steel* Hardwood block (10 slots + 6 steak knife slots)These knives work UNBELIEVABLY EASILY on ANY cutting / carving needs in the kitchen. My wife just loves the paring knife and the 8 chef's knife. No more pain in her wrists and hand putting force onto knives to cut through food! The only drawback to Four Star 7-piece set was that Pro-S did not have the longer 6 utility knife but my wife would rather make better use of the 5 santoku that came with the Pro-S instead. Also, compared with the Pro-S 10-piece set, this 7-piece set is short of a 2-3/4 parer/boner, 5-1/2 boner, and a 6 utility knife but my wife didn't feel the need for these. We can always buy other Pro-S knives that she needs more, individually. The 3 parer knife works with ease on cutting fruits and vegetables. And the 5 utility knife does a fine job on tomatoes, bagels, etc. The shears are pretty darn good too, with thick, sturdy blades enough to cut frozen meat with no sweat, etc. This set is no comparison to the $50 - $100 Henckels International or Fine Edge sets. These Pro-S knives are in a completely different league. Best of all, the Henckels Pro-S comes with a Lifetime warranty against defects! If you like a heavier handle and if you like the super-sharp sturdy quality that will last a lifetime go for the Pro-S. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Twin Pro-S set!
