The Multi-Pure MP750SB is part of the water filter
test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, water filter
models like the MP750SB are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.
Lead removal indicates the percentage of lead that was removed by each filter.
Chloroform removal rates the percentage of chloroform removed. A filter's ability to remove chloroform predicts how well it will remove organic compounds as well as byproducts created by disinfectants used by water systems.
Flow rate is how fast a gallon of water filtered through the cartridge. The criteria for flow rate scores differ between different types of filters. Faucet-mount, countertop, and undersink models have the same criterion; carafes and reverse osmosis models each have their own.
Features & Specs - Multi-Pure MP750SB
Filter cost Filter cost per year is based on claimed cartridge life span. For certain reverse osmosis units, professional service (PS) is recommended by the manufacturer. The filter cost/yr. for the reverse osmosis units does not include the osmotic membrane which typically lasts at least two years
Filter-life indicator Filter-life indicator shows models with this feature.
We had this installed by our regular, very reliable and competent plumber. It worked great at first, but after about a week it started leaking at the big O-ring gasket that holds the top and bottom parts together. Our attempts to fix this following manufacturer recommendations were unsuccessful and frustrating, so we're returning it to the manufacturer. Will try a different brand instead.

I live in a city where the water tastes terrible. I have had an under sink water filter for about 15 years. We upgraded to the Multipure about 18 months ago. I hesitated because of the cost. I did choose the Multipure over the less expensive filters because the replacement filter cost was competitive. We also were able to save some money on the purchase because we already had a good water filter faucet that had been professionally installed. The new filter still needed to be installed by a plumber. I do not regret the decision to buy this model at all. I would not be afraid to compare my filtered tap water to any bottled water in a blind taste test. The filters are much easier to change than our previous filter. Also, it does not leak like our previous filter did. The water tastes great. The filters last us about 9 months.

Fits Great Under Sink
Have Had For 30 Yrs
For purifying our water ...fits great under sink and have the spout through hole in sink. Well rated by this site and many others. Unit itself is made completely except for gasket out of stainless steel so virtually will last forever unless you break it somehow...have had mine for over 30 yrs and replace filter when needed and that's it. Have no cons
