About - Multi-Pure MP750SB

The Multi-Pure MP750SB is part of the water filter test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, water filter models like the MP750SB are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Lead removal:
Lead removal indicates the percentage of lead that was removed by each filter.

Chloroform removal:
Chloroform removal rates the percentage of chloroform removed. A filter's ability to remove chloroform predicts how well it will remove organic compounds as well as byproducts created by disinfectants used by water systems.

Flow rate:
Flow rate is how fast a gallon of water filtered through the cartridge. The criteria for flow rate scores differ between different types of filters. Faucet-mount, countertop, and undersink models have the same criterion; carafes and reverse osmosis models each have their own.

Comment:
For purifying our water ...fits great under sink and have the spout through hole in sink. Well rated by this site and many others. Unit itself is made completely except for gasket out of stainless steel so virtually will last forever unless you break it somehow...have had mine for over 30 yrs and replace filter when needed and that's it. Have no cons

I received this as a present from my parents about 11 years ago. My model looks similar but is probably the predecessor to this model. Mine is the 750SC. My parents have had their system for even longer. Both are just the normal under mount systems. Neither one of us have ever had any problem, and we do change the filters yearly. We used it in Houston for 5yrs and in San Antonio, now going on 6yrs. Both cities have hard water and we do not have a water softener. The mineral build up has caused no problems with the filter. At our yearly filter change, we noticed the filter was always more brown in Houston than in San Antonio. We always prefer the water from our house to any other water. Changing the filter is easy, and I like that the company will send a reminder when it is time to change the filter. This water system is a good investment for the long run!

Comment:
We've had this filter for about 16 months and love it. The quality is excellent, including the faucet, and the installation is fairly simple. I just purchased our first replacement filter even though the original is still working fine. The instructions say to replace the filter annually or when the flow diminishes so I'm only replacing it because of the time factor. I intend on cutting the old filter apart and if it looks clean I'll probably wait 2 years to do the replacement again. Very satisfied with this unit, and would definitely recommend it to others.
