I use it for everything we drink and cook with and for our ice maker. Mantence is only around $95 a year, because it hooks to my refrigerator, I don't have to buy refrigerator filter any more. My whole family live the taste of the water!

The design makes changing the front filter an exercise in frustration. Broken fingernails, hours lost and the filter is still not in.

Great product, high quality. Ours is installed in furnace room in basement, which is so much more convenient than under sink for obvious storage space reasons in kitchen and the inevitable drips/mess of changing filters, plus it removes the typical gurgle/drip noises from RO systems out of the living space and into a mechanical room. I do the annual sanitation procedure myself...Kinetico sells a kit with step-by-step instructions, so no need to pay for service call to get it properly sanitized once a year. You must budget about $110 per year for filters, which I agree is high. But it works and I like it. Reduced one star due to high price of ownership only. It is otherwise a 5 star product and if you can afford it, I highly recommend it. Sooooo much more water pressure and volume comes out of it compared to our old typical undersink RO model.
