About - Cuisinart CGG-200

The Cuisinart CGG-200 is part of the gas grill test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, gas grill models like the CGG-200 are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Low temp performance:
Combines the evenness of heating over the grill's surface at the low setting (using thermocouples) and the models ability to cook chicken and fish on the gril at that setting without burning the food.

High temp evenness:
Evenness of heating over the grill's surface at the high setting, using thermocouples.

Indirect cooking:
This indicates how well the grill will slow cook foods when only some of the burners are on and the food isn't placed directly over the flame.

Comment:
Not sure why this grill is at the bottom of the ratings. I needed a grill for the two of us or a small group, read some online reviews and purchased this grill. For my purposes, it's fine. It gets hot enough to cook everything I've tried so far-meat, fish and grilled veggies with no issues. Seasoning the grids (look at the [...] customer reviews)is a good idea and also line the interior with heavy duty foil. Wind does reduce the temp somewhat and the igniter isn't going to last forever (there is a way to self light it that appears to be simple so no worries). Again, for occasional grilling for a few people, it's fine. For larger scale, buy a bigger and more expensive grill. It appears to be well made so should last but I keep it in a closet and out of the elements. I bought the converter hose so I can use a regular propane tank. I also bought a small cart with two levels-one for the grill and the tank goes underneath so in and out of the storage closet with ease. Again, for the [$] I paid, I'm satisfied.
How long have you owned it:
One-to-three months
Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

CUISINART CUSTOMER SERVICE
We bought a Cuisinart CGG-200 grill from Kohl's on 08/25/2010. The grill deserve a 5 stars. CUISINART CUSTOMER SERVICE DESERVE A NEGATIVE 10 It came without the veggie panel that is included in the sale As specified in CUISINART description of the grill. www.cuisinart.com/products/grilling_tools/cgg-200.htm 3 weeks now that I'm trying to get them to send me the missing veggie panel . After numerous calls redirected to people that never call back or this is not the right person, call this number or another one My supervisor just stepped out of the office BUT he'll call you back and of course he never call back. They just give me the RUN AROUND So I don't have to tell you that CUISINART, NEVER AGAIN. Claude FERRE a very UNHAPPY customer
