About This Brand
This brand, known for its durability and dependability, went through an entire line and design change in 2007. Weber is known for its quality products in the midpriced to high-priced categories, and grills that feature coated cast-iron and stainless-steel-rod cooking grates and long-warranty stainless-steel burners. (The company offers a natural-gas version for most of its grills.) Weber recently introduced an infrared-searing station on some of its grills, updated its Q line of portable grills, and added colors to its entire lineup. Weber grills are available at many retailers nationwide. Grills range in price from $130 to $3,000. Note that Weber acquired Ducane about four years ago.
Features & Specs - Weber Q 100
Stainless-steel grates Primary cooking grates made of stainless-steel are generally sturdier than those made of coated steel and resist rust even without a porcelain coating.
Stainless-steel grates
No
Coated-cast-iron grates The grill's primary cooking grates may be made of porcelain coated cast-iron, which generally sears meats better and keeps grilling temperatures more consistent than grates made of porcelain coated steel. The porcelain coating usually makes such grates easier to clean than other surfaces, and the grates should resist rust as long as their porcelain coating isn't chipped.
Coated-cast-iron grates
Yes
All or mostly stainless Includes more than just a panel or other trim. Based on our limited tests, nonmagnetic stainless is less likely to corrode.

Long-warranty burners While burners remain the grill's most-replaced part, most are warranted for only 3 to 5 years. Better burners are covered for 10 years or more.
Long-warranty burners
No
Side burner A side burner, which resembles a gas-stove burner and has its own heat control, is handy if you want to cook vegetables or sauce without leaving the grill. A side burner could also be an infrared burner used for searing.
Side burner
No
Infrared burner Gas burner that uses infrared technology (ceramic burner, plates and screens, or troughs as some examples) for cooking. An indirect flame is used for cooking food. Burner can be located as the main burner, side burner, rotisserie burner, or any combination of burners.
I always purchased a gas grill from the big box stores and after a few years when they fall apart, Char-broil types, I buy another. This time around I did a little research and read about the Webber grills in particular this Q100 series as its just me and the wife who use it. So the size is great for two people, its easy to set up. The cast iron grates are fantastic to cook on and easy to keep clean. I also use the Webber grill spray as you can spray it directly on the food you are cooking, its soy based so I'm okay with that and it works great for not sticking food to the cast iron cooking surface. I also clean it after each use, I use the small gas bottles with it, as its handy. I also purchased this from [@]with a stand, it came with, so all in all I am extremely satisfied with this grill, its perfect for one or two people and its cooks great!

We really liked the way this grill cooks. Unfortunately, after teo years the hose from the gas tank to the grill cracked. So we bought a new hose. The new hose would not work. So I went back to the dealer. The dealer could not figure out why. He tried everything. Then I called Weber. They basically told me to go pound sand.

Will I ever buy another Weber? Probably not. Spent 175 on this one and it lasted two years. I can do better than that with a cheaper off brand that will last three or four years and if anything breaks, I have fixed those cheap grills. Basically, when the weber breaks, it can not be fixed.

I prefer charcoal grills but rarely have the time to get mine fired up these days, especially on weeknights. I bought this to put on the deck, as it is fairly small and can be placed under the table when not in use. It's very solid, and heats up quickly with the lid closed. I like it very much; it always starts on the first try, and it cooks evenly and fairly quickly. I might actually invest in the adapter for a full-size propane tank, since the empty small tanks are piling up. The only real drawback are that indirect cooking is not really possible (though it's not really designed for that), and if you're looking for a portable grill this might be a bit too heavy.

A total waste of money. Its the last Weber product I will ever buy.
The small prpane grill recommended for the grill does not last to long.
I highly recommend the grill especially to use for guick grilling and a easy take-along for outings. As far as the propane tank not lasting to long. I removed the ring support that holds that tank and made one that would hold a larger green coleman propane tank. It is shorter and seems to last longer.
well built, portable, easy to use, big enough for one person or a small group
Weakness
propane tank needed not standard, will be tempted to buy extra accessories
This was my first propane grill purchase and I would have to say that I'm incredibly happy with my purchase. It saves me so much prep time over my old charcoal grill and I don't feel guilty firing it up just for one person's meal. I was able to get the grill at about $100 and I think it was well worth the money. The grill is very well built and easy to assemble. It can easily cook enough food for a small amount of guests at a time (3 or 4).The only issues I had with the Q 100 is initially finding the right propane tank. I was able to locate one in the hand torch section of my local Lowes. It lasted about 5 or 6 outings before I had to replace it. Eventually I want to buy the hose adapter to use with a larger propane tank.I'd definitely recommend this grill if you are a small time or new bbq-er. There are also higher models to consider if you want something larger or more extras.
