Low temp performance:
Combines the evenness of heating over the grill's surface at the low setting (using thermocouples) and the models ability to cook chicken and fish on the gril at that setting without burning the food.
High temp evenness:
Evenness of heating over the grill's surface at the high setting, using thermocouples.
Indirect cooking:
This indicates how well the grill will slow cook foods when only some of the burners are on and the food isn't placed directly over the flame.

About This Brand
This brand, known for its durability and dependability, went through an entire line and design change in 2007. Weber is known for its quality products in the midpriced to high-priced categories, and grills that feature coated cast-iron and stainless-steel-rod cooking grates and long-warranty stainless-steel burners. (The company offers a natural-gas version for most of its grills.) Weber recently introduced an infrared-searing station on some of its grills, updated its Q line of portable grills, and added colors to its entire lineup. Weber grills are available at many retailers nationwide. Grills range in price from $130 to $3,000. Note that Weber acquired Ducane about four years ago.
Features & Specs - Weber Spirit E-310
Stainless-steel grates Primary cooking grates made of stainless-steel are generally sturdier than those made of coated steel and resist rust even without a porcelain coating.
Stainless-steel grates
No
Coated-cast-iron grates The grill's primary cooking grates may be made of porcelain coated cast-iron, which generally sears meats better and keeps grilling temperatures more consistent than grates made of porcelain coated steel. The porcelain coating usually makes such grates easier to clean than other surfaces, and the grates should resist rust as long as their porcelain coating isn't chipped.
Coated-cast-iron grates
No
All or mostly stainless Includes more than just a panel or other trim. Based on our limited tests, nonmagnetic stainless is less likely to corrode.
All or mostly stainless
No
Long-warranty burners While burners remain the grill's most-replaced part, most are warranted for only 3 to 5 years. Better burners are covered for 10 years or more.
Long-warranty burners
Yes
Side burner A side burner, which resembles a gas-stove burner and has its own heat control, is handy if you want to cook vegetables or sauce without leaving the grill.
Side burner
No
Infrared burner Gas burner that uses infrared technology (ceramic burner, plates and screens, or troughs as some examples) for cooking. An indirect flame is used for cooking food. Burner can be located as the main burner, side burner, rotisserie burner, or any combination of burners.
I have been unimpressed with evenness and with flare-ups. Example: I preheated on high for about 4 minutes, then turned all burners down to low, then put down 9 brats in an evenly spaced grid pattern, keeping a couple of inches from the edges. Turning them after 5 minutes, the back-right and back-center brats were very brown (not yet burnt), while there were barely any grill-marks visible on the front-left. I wind up playing musical brats/burgers and moving pieces from hot spots to cold spots, and vice versa. Cooking fatty meat on high heat back-right is nearly out of the question, with severe flare-ups occuring withing 30 seconds. Grill-roasting with med-low indirect heat is OK.

Comment:
I just bought this Weber grill for my shore home. I have a Weber at home and found it simple to assemble, easy to use and clean, and withstands the NJ weather. My first Weber took about 1/2 hour to assemble which delighted me. My new Weber took hours to assemble. The instructions were in pictures only; no words used in the instructions. Some of the pictures were not very clear so a few times I had to remove parts that were installed incorrectly. Even though it took a long time to assemble, I love it and would buy it again...although I would pay someone to assemble it.

Also, I did not realize that it didn't have a gas indicator to tell me how much propane is left in the tank. I will be buying one tomorrow.

You really get what you pay for with a Weber grill. All parts are of much higher quality than the in-house brands of home improvement stores and the huge, shiny grills made from low grades of stainless steel. This Weber has fewer bells and whistles, but we don't need a side burner, rotisserie, or 6 burners. We need a grill that lights easily, heats up quickly, and cooks evenly. Its so easy to cook on, we grill several times a week now, including fish and veggies, which we couldn't on our old grill from a discount retailer.

Strength
best construction and heat control of any gas grill I've ever owned - (8 in 30 years). Love the propane level gauge on the tank mount. Free Assembly at Home Depot
Weakness
I paid $199.00 for this grill at Home Deport last month. Why is this grill more than double that at your merchants?
I have friends who swear by Weber grill products. Always wanted to try one buy they seem so over priced. When I saw this one in Home Depot ad for $199.00 I couldn't resist. It is great. I recommend spending extra $30 or $40 for the custom fitted Weber cover. It really fits well and protects the grill from the elements.
