The Weber Spirit E210 is part of the gas grill
test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, gas grill
models like the Spirit E210 are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.
Low temp performance:
Combines the evenness of heating over the grill's surface at the low setting (using thermocouples) and the models ability to cook chicken and fish on the gril at that setting without burning the food.
High temp evenness:
Evenness of heating over the grill's surface at the high setting, using thermocouples.
Indirect cooking:
This indicates how well the grill will slow cook foods when only some of the burners are on and the food isn't placed directly over the flame.
About This Brand
This brand, known for its durability and dependability, went through an entire line and design change in 2007. Weber is known for its quality products in the midpriced to high-priced categories, and grills that feature coated cast-iron and stainless-steel-rod cooking grates and long-warranty stainless-steel burners. (The company offers a natural-gas version for most of its grills.) Weber recently introduced an infrared-searing station on some of its grills, updated its Q line of portable grills, and added colors to its entire lineup. Weber grills are available at many retailers nationwide. Grills range in price from $130 to $3,000. Note that Weber acquired Ducane about four years ago.
Features & Specs - Weber Spirit E210
Stainless-steel grates Primary cooking grates made of stainless-steel are generally sturdier than those made of coated steel and resist rust even without a porcelain coating.
Stainless-steel grates
No
Coated-cast-iron grates The grill's primary cooking grates may be made of porcelain coated cast-iron, which generally sears meats better and keeps grilling temperatures more consistent than grates made of porcelain coated steel. The porcelain coating usually makes such grates easier to clean than other surfaces, and the grates should resist rust as long as their porcelain coating isn't chipped.
Coated-cast-iron grates
No
All or mostly stainless Includes more than just a panel or other trim. Based on our limited tests, nonmagnetic stainless is less likely to corrode.
All or mostly stainless
No
Long-warranty burners While burners remain the grill's most-replaced part, most are warranted for only 3 to 5 years. Better burners are covered for 10 years or more.
Long-warranty burners
Yes
Side burner A side burner, which resembles a gas-stove burner and has its own heat control, is handy if you want to cook vegetables or sauce without leaving the grill.
Side burner
No
Infrared burner Gas burner that uses infrared technology (ceramic burner, plates and screens, or troughs as some examples) for cooking. An indirect flame is used for cooking food. Burner can be located as the main burner, side burner, rotisserie burner, or any combination of burners.
Used largely for my wife and myself, though it has had multiple users. We use it several times a week. The starter became dysfunctional within a month, and completely gone within two years. Most disturbing is how quickly the grills rusted, along with paint peeling in the hood, despite careful coverage when not in use. It is altogether a loosely fitted product, with doors and handles threatening to drop. As a long-time Weber user, this is a major step down and a real disappointment.

Bought ours 15+ years ago. Refurbished the grill twice - burners, flavorizer bars, grates and knobs - for about 1/4 the price of a new grill. It's been a great grill and I have abused it pretty well. Cooked in a dutch oven with a cookie sheet holding the charcoal, always kept outside (covered), and only set it on fire a few times (pork fat!!).

We've managed to indirect cook / smoke ribs on it as well as the usual meat and kabob choices. Bought when it was just my wife and I - now with 3 kids, it is a little small for bigger meals (ribs) and parties. Finally want to buy new (bigger) grill instead of refurbishing. This was precipitated by our old quick-connect tank needing replacement - the grill is still fine. We will stick with Weber and go to a 310 or 330. Only regret I did not buy the bigger 310 or 330 grill 15 years ago.

...This is the best grill I've ever owned. I have spent my entire adult life buying cheap grills and having to replace them every 2-3 years. For the first time I decided to step up to an entry-level Weber grill and I can already tell it is the best grill I've ever owned. The good folks at [@] assembled mine for me so I can't comment on the assembly. It fired right up and got up to cooking temperature very quickly. The first thing I noticed was the smooth, even flame and no flare-ups. The first meal we grilled was pork chops and they were fantastic: Evenly cooked and juicy. After pulling them off the grill I set it to high for 5 minutes and it was clean as a whistle with no brushing. The wheels roll easily and locking mechanism holds it in place well. You will love this grill.

Weber Spirit E-210

Strength
Lights quickly and burns evenly. I love it and everything I cook comes out great.Gets plenty hot.
Weakness
I need to replace the quick start, but customer service has been great
We purchased this 210 Spirit since it was a Weber. We have grilled numerous times and our food just tastes marvelous. We also purchased the Spirit cover and I am quite impressed with the quality of the cover and the grill. The instructions for assembly were better than average (all pictures) and it was easy to assemble in less than 3 hours. Lowes would have assembled it for free but I like to put them together myself; I could have also purchased a pre-assembled grill if I desired one.I believe this is a good value grill if properly cared for and maintained.
