Comment:
You have to close the lid in order to have enough heat to cook your food. Closing the lid makes this an oven and your baking you're meat, not grilling it. The burners on this item don't get hot enough to sear or char the meat. The sear station doesn't even get hot enough. Don't even think about trying to blacken some poblanos to remove the skin. I hate this oven and wish I never bought it. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with it now but thankfully I'll only use it during the hot Texas summer when it's too hot to stand over my charcoal grill that does get hot enough.

After 25 years, the old Weber had served us well. It was time for a new one, and we couldn't be more pleased. The construction and quality of materials has been a pleasant plus.

I recommend the use of the full length Weber cover. It has served us well through the first winter with no apparent weather wear. We are also finding the natural gas hook up to be well worth the slightly higher extra cost.

My previous Weber Silver B of 15 years finally started to rust badly. After (3) replacement of burners and grates it was time to say goodbye to an old friend. I looked at all the alternatives. Looked nice, good reviews etc. I decided that all the others I would replace within 5 years or less. Friends who have other grills not Weber look like they have been through the war. I really tried to convince myself that the other alternatives were viable. But in the end I knew I could not fool myself that the Weber was actually the cheaper alternative in the long run. So I bite the bullet and am not disappointed. This grill simply does it right, no bells or whistles, cooks exactly like you would expect. Cooks very evenly, performs perfectly. If it lasts like my Silver B I will be very happy. Got is delievered and assembled for free, so the replacement was cooking that evening for dinner. So far it is as advertised.
