Energy Star appliances should use at least 10 to 25 percent less energy than nonqualified models. Many appliances are required
to carry the Federal Trade Commission's EnergyGuide label. It lets you compare the energy consumption of appliances and determine
approximately how much it will cost you to run them.

Annual operating cost is based on electricity and/or gas consumption and the national average cost for a kilowatt-hour or
therm.
You can see whether the model you're buying uses more or less energy than similar models.

The Energy Star logo indicates that the product qualifies for the program.
