Wide Mowing Deck
Cons

Best Uses

Comment:
I mow a flat acre of lawn. Last year when I purchased the mower it worked fine because we had an extremely hot, dry summer. This year I had to mow on the highest cutting level and the mower would clog so bad I had to stop several times to clean it out. The deck appears to be two wide for the three equal sized blades to work efficiently.

Comment:
Like the features, adjustable seat, 23h engine, oil filter. The main complaint I have is how long you have to wait for your lawn to dry out before it mows efficiently. Try to mow in slightly damp grass and the vent holes on the deck around the mandrels get clogged and block air flow and grass builds up under deck. This can stall out mower even in 3-4 grass. It seems more of a problem on this mower than others I've owned.<br /> I've used this lawn tractor most the summer. The mower deck just gets clogged too easy. I have tough grass to mow. I've waited a week after a rain to mow and deck gets clogged in 4 grass. I have pasture grass like brome and fescue, crab grass, etc. These grasses must retain moisture more than fine blade grass found in suburban lawns. The grass becomes wedged in deck housing and moisture is wrung out like a cider press. The grass comes out in big dark green blobs. I used my old 1994 Murray rider after trying to mow with this one and it did a better job. I wouldn't recommend this mower for any rural mowing of field grasses. I thought with a 23 horse engine it should have been able to do the job.

Comment:
I mow about 1 acre. The engine threw a rod and is required to be replaced at a cost of $1,000 plus! This was supposed to be a good quality product? NO WAY! Since when does an engine blow up with just over 100 hours? Warranty and service of Husq is a joke.
