Comment:
My suburb has a lot of trees, bushes and curvy streets. With the Cub's casters I can easily mow around objects and mow in any configuration like spirals, squares, zags or straight. Regular mowers have to be lifted to turn which is dangerous and wasted motion mowing the air.
The only low for the Cub Caster is that the front wheels have to be propped up and bolts finger loosened to change the cut-length. Ten years ago Honda had a caster wheel mower with cut-length handles up front.
My SC500Z has more plastic yellow trim on the controls. Lean wrist forward and the mower takes off. Ease off and it creeps along. Relax wrist and it goes to neutral. Oil takes less than the manual's 20 ounces. I wish the gas tank was not black so I could see inside. Price for casters seem high but its still cheaper than a riding mower. Caster turning is awesome and it saves me time not lifting. Neighbors have noticed and are waving more than usual.

I own the sister model to this (also produced by Ariens) and have owned it since 2001. I just recently replaced a few wheels and have had it tune up once since buying it (inspected and changed spark plug as needed). I have found it to be very reliable and an excellent mower. The deck is still in excellent shape (clean it twice a years, especially before putting it away in the fall) and I expect it to last another 10 years with regular maintenance (oil change, blade sharpening and cleaning the air filter). Since I don't like to bag my clippings, I use it almost exclusively with the mulcher feature. Highly recommend it.
