I'm not at all sure where any of the negative reviews come form, Everyone's got an some axe to grind about something, I guess. I have real experience with backpack blowers. I've rented large Stihl and Husqvarna and other commercial machines. This one approaches those machines power and use (50.2cc). Would it stand up to being used 8 hrs / day and thrown in the back of truck? - probably not. But for my 3 acre New England fully treed yard, this backpack blower does the job at $250-$400 less than a full-blown commercial blower (75-100cc). This one is definitely quieter than the cheaper units on the market as well as the commercial ones I rented. The cleanable air-cleaner is a nice feature. It comes with an additional narrow tip for cleaning gutters, and the like, in one pass. One suggestion not mentioned by the Consumer Reports - Make sure you empty the tank after each use and run the engine dry. This is because of the ethanol we're forced to buy in our gas which ruins the carburetor and gas lines. This is true for any small engine, unless you're using it daily.
