Easy miter adjustment. A crosshair sight glass over the scale works better than a simple arrow. Found on the Ridgid MS1065LZ, DeWalt DW703, Hitachi
C10FCH, Craftsman 21233, Craftsman 21229 , Craftsman 21207, Ryobi TS1353DXL, and Bosch 3918 miter saws. Stops for common angles
aided setup and accuracy on all miter saws and on the Ridgid TS2400LS, DeWalt DW744S, Bosch 4000-07, Ryobi BTS20, Ryobi BTS10S,
Hitachi C10RA3, Craftsman 21805, and Skil 3400-08 table saws.
Extensions. These support longer or wider pieces of lumber. The Ridgid MS1065LZ, Craftsman 21233, Craftsman 21207, Ryobi TS1353DXL, Milwaukee
6494-6 , and Bosch 4410L miter saws and all of the tested table saws except the Makita 2703X1, Ryobi BTS10S, Skil 3400-08,
and Craftsman 21802 have side supports. The Ryobi BTS20 and Craftsman 21805 table saws include out-feed supports at back.
Carbide-tipped blade. Carbide improves cutting speed and blade life. Found on all tested saws.
Electric brake. Adds safety and can speed up the job by stopping the blade almost instantly after you press the Off switch. Found on all
tested miter saws and on the Makita 2703X1 table saw.

Laser cutting guide. Improves accuracy and safety by projecting a red line over the cutting path. The Ratings show models that have it.
Holding clamp. Attaches to the miter table or fence to hold material for cutting, improving accuracy and helping keep your left hand from
touching the blade. Found on all of the tested models except the DeWalt DW703, Milwaukee 6494-6, and Delta SM100M. The Ridgid
MS1065LZ has a clamp you can secure and release without cranking.
Spindle lock. A button or lever that keeps the motor’s shaft from turning when you’re changing blades. Found on all tested miter saws except
the Delta SM100M.
Adjustable handle. Rotates to make moving the saw arm easier. Found on the Craftsman 21233, Craftsman 21207 and Bosch 4410L.
FOR TABLE SAWS ONLY
Cut-line indicator. Located in front of the cutting blade to help line up material to be cut. Found on the Ridgid TS2400LS, Bosch 4000-07, and
Hitachi C10RA3.
Retained miter fence. A T-slot channel holds the cutting guide so that it won’t lift out while you’re positioning the wood. Most we tested were
either retained or sturdy enough to stay put. Those on the Makita 2703X1 and Ryobi BTS10S could pop out.
Easy rip-fence adjustment. Having a fine adjustment for the fence improves accuracy. Found on the Ridgid TS2400LS and DeWalt DW744S. All but the Makita
2703X1 and Craftsman 21802 use a crosshair sight glass.
