In April 2014, the recall of about 5,700 Ariens and Sno-Tek snow blowers (and power brushes), including certain Ariens model 920014 and the Sno-Tek models 920402 and 920403 snow blowers, was announced by Ariens and the Consumer Product Safety Commission. A drive pulley in the snow blowers can crack while in use and cause the auger and impeller to continue rotating after the clutch is disengaged, posing amputation and laceration hazards. Ariens is offering a free repair. See the CPSC recall notice for more details.
In February 2011, Sno-Tek snow blowers with model numbers 920402 and 920403 were recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission because they lack a safety shield above the side-mounted electric starter, posing a laceration hazard. See the CPSC recall notice for more details.
