Comment:
So far, Snow Joe has replaced the electric motor as the bearings wear out quickly. I've replaced the rubber belt twice. After 5 minutes of continuous use, it overheats & shuts off or it trips the electrical circuit breaker.
Wet snow overwhelms the snow blower. It clogs up the chute & overheats the motor. The scraper blade wears out in one season of use. The wheels are useless as they clog up & freeze.
BTW, I own 3 of these models. I use 2 of them as spare parts once their 2 year warranty expired!

Comment:
I use the blower to plow my driveway that is about 75 feet long and narrow, and my sidewalk. The wheels are not motorized. It is a lot of work - perhaps more than shoveling - to push this thing through a foot of dry snow. The small wheels get packed with snow and jam. It can make reasonable progress with 6 inches of snow on a very smooth surface, but I can shovel that just as easily. During the recent 2-3 foot snows I had to dig down to 1 foot of snow, then use it. Sort of defeats the purpose. The positives are that it is quiet and you don't have to deal with gasoline. I am going to buy a real snow blower next time. I was surprised to read the positive reviews.

Comment:
This is my third snow season with sno-joe. It replaced a 30 year old single-stage gas John Deere. The Joe works as well with much less maintenance and I don't smell like gas and oil when I'm done. It does not snow much here, but this thing works just fine with the occasional 3 or 4 inch snowfall we get, even the wet/soggy stuff.
