Comment:
I have owned this reasonably priced model for about 2.5 years and the engine through a piston. I take good care of my equipment and I remember my father getting 17 years out of his snowblower. Engine repairs will cost me around $180 (doing the work myself) or almost $400 for a new engine. I'm very disappointed with this product.

Very good for sidewalks where you can keep the chute control in one position. However, shifting the chute control will cause it to fail.

Comment:
Compared to my 30 year old Montgomery Ward this does not feel as heavy duty. That said, I am on my third year with this one and so far it works well. My driveway could easily use a 28 to 30 inch blower but my storage is limited and the 24 inch is the limit. I couldn't pass it up for the price-at the time there was a 20% discount. And for the few times a year needed it clears the drive and walk quick enough. One thing to watch is the small square cut-out at the bottom of the blade housing. It got a rock stuck in it and it quickly stalled the blade and burned through the belt. Lowes had the belt in stock, the instruction manual clearly showed how to change it, and I got it working.

Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
