Comment:
Bought this on CR's recommendation, without reading the reviews. Big mistake. The line feed mechanism is abysmal - you spend more time manually feeding line than you do using the product.

It's far more powerful than the B&D Ni-Cad version it replaced, which was replaced only because the Ni-Cads had reached the end of their life.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Comment:
My wife won't use a gas-powered hand tool and doesn't like corded garden tools. I did not expect much from a battery-powered trimmer, and was pleasantly surprised by the run-time on the full-size battery (it comes with a compact battery that doesn't last long on a charge). It is fairly light weight, and with a little practice, I found I could do as well with it in grass as with a corded electric. It can be used with an extension cord, but I haven't tried it that way. It converts easily into a trimmer that does a passable job. The cord spool is small, but it feeds well and I found that I could rewind the spool with less expensive and heavier cord from the hardware store.

Comment:
Not very robust but was fine for light jobs around the house. However, the spool base wore out which meant all the line unravelled when you ran it. No one would work on it and it's impossible to take apart to fix yourself. Essentially a disposable weed trimmer.
How long have you owned it:
More than six months
Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
