I wish my old McCullough trimmer lasted more than 25 years of weekly use. Bought TB32EC trimmer and it lasted only 8 times trimming around house. Really a very poor quality product if these only last a few times under regular usage. Quit making junk Troy Bilt!

I bought this because of the CR review and rating. I should have read USER reviews first. I am sorely disappointed in the Troy-Bilt TB32 EC. I've used it about 8 times this year and hoped I might get a better feel for it with several uses. Unfortunately that was not the case. It lacks power, is difficult to start, often stalls out, very difficult to re-start, I have to keep the choke on to keep it running.

I've been informed by the big box retailer that the best they can do is ship it out to repair - at my cost. No return after use. The reason they don't take returns for used power equipment is that it would be a total loss on their side. Guess that means the customer takes the loss on substandard product.

I think CR and the retailer are both wrong on this trimmer. Buy a different one.

Comment:
Have purchased three of these as well as the store's extended warranty each time--thank goodness. However, the Troy does not last. The carburetor cracks, leaking fuel and making starting difficult. The latest replacement lasted just one use. When I return this one, I am switching to a different brand.
