Honda rushed the Civic's freshening, merely 18 months after the redesign was introduced, which has made the car much better. It now rides more comfortably, handles more responsively, is a bit quieter, and the interior is nicer. The EX gets automatic climate control, and all versions have a standard backup camera. The powertrain remains smooth and unobtrusive. Fuel economy ranges from 29 mpg overall for the EX, and 32 mpg in the HF to 40 mpg in the hybrid. The rear seat provides decent room. The sporty Si is quick and has a slick shifter but is very loud. The updated Civic improved, allowing us to recommend it.
