Independent shops scored significantly better than dealers overall. Data are based on more than 158,000 vehicles that got repair service, from the 2008 Annual Auto Survey conducted by Consumer Reports National Research Center. This chart shows the percentage very satisfied with repair service. Differences less than seven percentage points among dealerships are not significant.
