Our preliminary tests indicate that these LCD sets, at 46 and 52 inches respectively, will be among our top-scoring models.
Both are 1080p "Full HD" sets. Though pricey, they have top-notch picture quality with all types of signals (high-definition,
DVDs, and standard-definition programs), and very good sound. They're compatible with Sony's Bravia Internet Video Link, an
optional broadband module ($300) that lets you stream Internet video, including HD content, from sites such as AOL and Yahoo,
to the TV without a PC. The difference between the XBR4 and XBR5 models is primarily cosmetic. XBR5 sets have a gloss-black
bezel; XBR4 models have a bezel that can be upgraded to color, for $300 more. In any given screen size, an XBR4 set is about
$300 cheaper than the XBR5.
