A tale of two tickets
We had two reporters shop for tickets, beginning a month in advance, to two events on May 20: a Yankees-Orioles baseball game in New York and a Santana concert in San Francisco. They tried to buy at the physical or Internet box office, then looked for good deals on the resellers' market. For the ball game, one reporter sought comparable seats in the same area, with the same face value price. For the concert, all but VIP seats were sold as general admission and were originally priced identically. Where applicable, we've included fees and the cheapest delivery charge. Typically, we found that tickets were sold in pairs.
