Portable Escort MediaFlair brings music and video on the road

Better known for radar detectors than mobile entertainment, Escort has expanded its repertoire to include sharing music, videos, and more on the road with its MediaFlair.

Smaller than a smart phone, the MediaFlair is a storage and streaming device that lets you load it up with entertainment from your home computer, and stream it to passenger’s phones, tablets, and devices using its own Wi-Fi signal to keep the family and friends entertained on trips.

MediaFlaire includes an 8GB SD card, which a factory representative told us is enough storage space for about 10 movies or 8,000 songs. If your planned itinerary is longer than that, you have our sympathies. But you can swap in a larger SD card.

The device includes a power cord with USB and automotive 12-volt connectors for data transfer and charging, and an internal battery that can hold a four-hour charge.

Families or other traveling companions can even simultaneously stream the entertainment of their choosing from the device, if nobody can agree on a movie or tunes.

Discovered at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, MediaFlair is in stores now, with a retail price of $100.
