Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen Overview

Basically a previous-generation Golf wagon, the Jetta SportWagen has a quiet, taut, and composed ride and responsive handling. The well-executed interior offers a lot of usable space in a small footprint. Acceleration is a bit leisurely with the diesel, but it has strong mid-range thrust. Our manual-shift version got an outstanding 36 mpg overall and 49 mpg on the highway. The 2.5-liter gas engine returned 23 mpg overall. The automated manual works well. Diesel versions get a standard backup camera for 2014. Reliability of the five-cylinder and diesel has been average or better. Look for a Golf Wagon to replace it in the immediate future.
