Colonic diverticular disease

Key points about treatments
There are quite a few treatments for diverticular disease and diverticulitis (when there's inflammation in the colon). But there hasn't been much research to show whether these treatments work.
- Having treatment with antibiotics can help the symptoms of diverticular disease and diverticulitis.
- Taking antibiotics with fiber supplements may help more than taking fiber supplements on their own.
- We can't say for sure whether any of the other treatments work because there hasn't been enough research on them.
