Skin cancer (squamous cell)

Handling certain chemicals and materials
Some chemicals and materials can trigger squamous cell skin cancer. If you have to handle these in your job, you may be more
likely to get this cancer. But skin cancers from chemicals are becoming less common. This is because working conditions have
gotten better, and workers often use safety measures to protect their skin.
The chemicals and materials that have been linked to squamous cell skin cancer include:
- Arsenic
- Soot
- Tar
- Metal ore
- Insecticides (chemicals that kills insects).
