How common is trigeminal neuralgia?
Trigeminal neuralgia is a rare condition.
About 15 in every 100,000 people get trigeminal neuralgia at some point in their lives.

Every year there are about four new cases of trigeminal neuralgia for every 100,000 people. Women get it nearly twice as often
as men.

Most people are over 50 when they get trigeminal neuralgia. People rarely get it when they are younger.
