	Hospital name	Safety score This score is a composite of several key measures of hospital safety.	Bloodstream infections This Rating shows bloodstream infections that ICU patients contracted while they had central-line catheters in place, compared with national averages published by the CDC. When possible, it adjusts for the fact that different types of ICUs have different infection rates.	Avoiding readmissions This Rating is based on the chance that a heart attack, heart failure, or pneumonia patient will be readmitted to the hospital within 30 days of being discharged. The data are adjusted for the varying health status of patients treated at each hospital.	Drug Information This Rating is based on the percentage of patients who said that staff always or usually explained about new medication, from government surveys of patients' experiences.	Adverse events This Rating is based on adverse event rates (a measure based on mortality or staying in the hospital longer than expected) for close to 100 surgical procedures. The rates are compared with predicted averages based on the kinds of patients the hospital cares for and the types of surgeries it performs.
