How common is Bell's palsy?
Bell's palsy is the most common cause of sudden weakness of the face muscles

About 1 in 60 people have Bell's palsy at some time in their life.1

You're most likely to get it when you are between the ages of 15 and 40. It's less common in children under 10 years of age.1

It affects both men and women equally. But women who are pregnant may be more likely to get Bell's palsy.1
