Depression

You may feel depressed or low after you have a heart attack. It's understandable. You've been seriously ill. About one-third of people who have heart attacks say they feel depressed soon afterward. And 1 in 6 people get seriously depressed.

If you feel depressed, talk to your doctor. There are effective treatments for depression. And since being depressed can affect your recovery, it's important to get help early.1
