Early menopause

Menopause is when your ovaries stop releasing eggs. It happens to all women, normally between the ages of 45 and 55. But it can happen earlier in some women.

An early menopause can be caused by:1

  • Surgery on your ovaries
  • Treatment for cancer
  • Your genes.
