Oral hygiene
There are several things you can do to keep your mouth clean. These can reduce the number of bacteria in your mouth, which may make your breath fresher. We didn't find any good research on these things, but your dentist may suggest:1 2 3
- Brushing your teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste
- Cleaning between your teeth once a day, using floss or an interdental cleaner
- Using an anti-bacterial mouthwash
- Cleaning your tongue with a tongue brush or soft toothbrush
- If you wear dentures, removing them at night, and making sure you clean them thoroughly before putting them back in next morning
- Having regular checkups with a dentist.
