Questions to ask your doctor
If you have a fungal nail infection, you can buy a treatment over the counter and you may not need to go to your doctor.
But if your infection doesn't go away, here are some questions you may want to ask:
- How did I get a fungal nail infection?
- Will my nails get better?
- What's the best treatment for me?
- Can I use a treatment that I apply to my nails or do I need to take pills?
- How long will I need to use this treatment?
- What are the side effects of treatment?
- Will my nails grow back or get back to normal?
- Do I have to stop doing any activities, such as running or swimming?
