How common are pressure sores?
We don't know exactly how many people get pressure sores.

Different studies say different things. Researchers estimate that between 5 in 100 and 30 in 100 people staying in a hospital get a pressure sore.1 The risks are about the same or slightly less for people living in nursing homes.
