Weight gain during menopause
You may find that you put on weight in the years around menopause. Some reports have found that women gain about a pound per year during this time of their lives.1
Some studies have suggested that gaining weight is linked to the hormonal changes of menopause, but this has not been proved. Changes in your weight could just be part of getting older.
