A well-rounded package providing a good mix of performance, sportiness, and luxurious amenities, the Acura TSX, while not as exciting to drive as the best sports sedans, is agile and adequately roomy. The powertrain is very smooth and the four-cylinder engine provides good fuel economy. Intuitive controls and impressive fit and finish are positives, but the ride is a bit too firm for some.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"Exceptionally crisp handling, joy to drive!"

MICHAEL D., VA (2006 Acura TSX)

"I've driven sporty coupes for 50 years and decided I needed a sedan at my age, for the sake of friends who ride with me. This car drives very well for a sedan, even though it's not quite as much fun as the coupes."

LINDA R., IN (2006 Acura TSX)

"Acceleration is peppy; handling is sporty yet not too firm for long rides"

MIKE B., FL (2006 Acura TSX)

"Solid ride, no springy bouncing over small bumps."

BERNARD S., CA (2006 Acura TSX)

"Noisy on the road"

DAVID F., TN (2006 Acura TSX)

"I love the way it handles. It is spectacular in the mountains. Its 6 spd stick 6th should be an overdrive and it's highway mileage would be huge. Honda thinks Americans are too stupid to down shift when the road becomes steep. This was the last Acura to be in Car and Drivers top 10. After 06 their steering became dull,no feel. This is why I still have it. I only use it on road trips. The only car I loved more was my 67 Alfa GTV Stepnose. But it rusted away,So sad. Dave Dunn"

DIANNE D., IL (2006 Acura TSX)

"The car is very good overall. I would like to see more precise steering and better hands off straight line driving. It has a tendency to wander."

DAVID J., ON (2006 Acura TSX)

"Acceleration is excellent for a four cylinder motor. Revs very quickly and the transmission is always in the right gear so the car pulls high altitude steep roads fairly well for a four cylinder. Handling is not like a BMW 3 series by any means. But it is way better than the average car. Stays flat in hard corning, transitions quickly, but there is a slight insecure feeling when pushing the car hard in a high speed corner. Front wheel drive affect I'm sure."

BRUCE W., WA (2006 Acura TSX)

"quick start from a stand still"

Anonymous, NJ (2006 Acura TSX)

"The 2006 Acura TSX is an amazingly fun-to-drive car, enhanced in my case because I bought a 6-speed manual shift transmission. It handles well, has over 200 hp, and still delivers 28-33mpg. My only complaint is that the turning radius is way too high."

Chuck E., SD (2006 Acura TSX)

"The acceleration is adequate (considering it's a fuel-sipping 4 cylinder) but the braking is predictable and the handling is crisp and sure."

Anonymous, FL (2006 Acura TSX)

"It is a 4door sports car, more fun in the mountans and twisty roads than you can imagine."

David D., IL (2006 Acura TSX)

"Acceleration and handling are great!"

Larry N., CO (2006 Acura TSX)

"responsive even after 199000"

Anonymous, NH (2006 Acura TSX)

"6 speed manual is fun to drive. Great acceleration if I choose to take advantage of it. Crisp handling."

Anonymous, MN (2006 Acura TSX)

"Acceleration and handling are excellent!"

Anonymous, CO (2006 Acura TSX)

"Car acceleration is excellent and the car handles really well even in curves"

Anonymous, FL (2006 Acura TSX)

"Hugs the road. Reasonably quick. I use the automatic in manual mode most of the time. Fun to drive in t he mountains."

Robert H., CO (2006 Acura TSX)

"This is the highest performance engine that Honda put in the TSX(only year '06 - '08). It has VTEC on intake/exhaust cams, enlarged exhaust and very responsive handling. Rarely lacking in power, it handles with a nice degree of sportiness for a sedan."

Anonymous, NV (2006 Acura TSX)

"Both excellent"

Bill F., CA (2006 Acura TSX)

"Handles well in adverse weather conditions"

Kenneth R., NJ (2006 Acura TSX)

"I love the tight handling of the TSX. However, the acceleration isn't great."

Andrea K., CA (2006 Acura TSX)

"It has quick acceleration when needed, doesn't lean excessively at reasonable speeds on corners or very sharp curves, and always feels stable."

Kerry H., NC (2006 Acura TSX)

"Acceleration is excellent, especially for a four cylinder car. Handling is very good at speeds at or below posted speed limits. High speed sweepers at 10 to 20 mph over posted curve speed can have some bad feedback in steering, harder to hold a line than it should be."

Bruce W., WA (2006 Acura TSX)

"Everything. This car has no bad points unless it’s just too small for a given family. My wife and I have no kids so it’s not too small for us."

Anonymous, CA (2006 Acura TSX)

"Always had quick pickup and acceleration, excellent handling in turns and windy roads, excellent braking. A fun car to drive, especially with the manual transmission."

Anonymous, CA (2006 Acura TSX)

"Love the clutchless shift driving. My previous cars were manual transmissions."

Anonymous, IL (2006 Acura TSX)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"It's a little too noisy when the sunroof is tilted. Also, the seat doesn't go high enough for me."

CHERYL G., IL (2006 Acura TSX)

"seat has no padding. AC not very good"

C P., IL (2006 Acura TSX)

"Seats could have more padding"

KENNETH R., NJ (2006 Acura TSX)

"It is relatively noisy at highway speeds. The climate control blows cold air unless I turn the heat up VERY high."

Anonymous, CA (2006 Acura TSX)

"pre-set seat positions for two drivers. Individual climate control. Good lumbar support"

Anonymous, NJ (2006 Acura TSX)

"Still as comfortable as the day I bought it new. During the last 2 years the climate control internal doors (shifting the flow of air) have become squeaky. It is not as quiet as when it was new, but it is acceptable"

DAVID J., UT (2006 Acura TSX)

"Heated seats add instant comfort on cold nights."

BERNARD S., CA (2006 Acura TSX)

"Dual zone climate control; seats comfortable for long trips; great handling; great visibility; high reliability; no rattles after 10 years of physical age"

MIKE B., FL (2006 Acura TSX)

"Seats are very comfortable. Climate control is excellent. Road noise could be a little less. A bit noisy like all Honda products."

BRUCE W., WA (2006 Acura TSX)

"The ride is not smooth and there is a lot of street noise when driven. Very little space for legs in back seat when front seats are set back."

Anonymous, CA (2006 Acura TSX)

"Good range of adjustment on seat with excellent bolstering. The ride is stiffer than a luxury sedan but the trade-off for sharp handling is worth it. The is even comfortable for long trips. There is a moderate amount of road noise -- so of that may be due to only purchasing a mid-range tire."

Anonymous, FL (2006 Acura TSX)

"The seat are comfortable and the ride and handling are superb. I do wish the road noise were not as noticeable."

Larry N., CO (2006 Acura TSX)

"This is a very comfort car to drive, lots of adjustment for the driver w/memory for those setting. The car is pretty quite and a great sounding radio..."

Charles E., NC (2006 Acura TSX)

"Noise is tiresome and ride on Michigan roads is rough"

Anonymous, MI (2006 Acura TSX)

"Seats are comfortable, as the vehicle as gotten older I am hearing more noise but the ride is still comfortable"

Anonymous, FL (2006 Acura TSX)

"Seats are super comfortable and supportive, car has a lot of road noise (not good) handling is above par, not a 3 series BMW, but better than most."

Bruce W., WA (2006 Acura TSX)

"Seats and ride is very comfortable"

Bill F., CA (2006 Acura TSX)

"Still the most comfortable front seats on any car I have ever driven."

Anonymous, TX (2006 Acura TSX)

"Extremely well designed seats, good lumbar support and length of seat cushion to give adequate support. Heated seats included. 2 memory positions on driver's side. All electronic controls for easy adjustment. Very quiet car, door close very lightly but have good sound insulation. Ride is comfortable, not too loose but compliant. Very well-damped. This car could be driven across country and never be uncomfortable for a minute."

Anonymous, NV (2006 Acura TSX)

"The windshield wipers are obnoxiously noisy to the point where I don't want to use them. The noise the car makes when you set the alarm is perfect (a nice beep instead of a loud horn noise)."

Anonymous, PA (2006 Acura TSX)

"Smooth, heated seats, quiet"

Anonymous, MN (2006 Acura TSX)

"Best car I’ve ever owned"

J R., SC (2006 Acura TSX)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"The issue mentioned was the first thing to go wrong in 110,000 miles. I have had the automobile for 8 years and it has never let me down. I paid a little more hoping for quality, I think I received that..."

Anonymous, NJ (2006 Acura TSX)

"Had this car for 10 years, 130k miles. Have had zero issues. I have only done regular scheduled maintenance. I have not had any additional repairs or part replacements on this car. Most trouble free car I have ever owned."

Keith S., OH (2006 Acura TSX)

"Great value ... based on the Japanese Honda Accord ... no longer available. Replaced by the ILX ... based off the US Honda Civic. ILX has not received good grades from owners in CR. Acura has left me stranded!"

David J., UT (2006 Acura TSX)

"I bought this car new and I still enjoy driving it after 11 years. It is reliable, comfortable, performs well and has needed normal maintenance and only repairs expected related to normal wear."

Robert M., CA (2006 Acura TSX)

"best car i have ever owned"

Anonymous, NJ (2006 Acura TSX)

"12 years ago, it was one of the very best cars for the money in its price range. It's been an outstanding car, very enjoyable to drive. It is no longer made."

Kerry H., NC (2006 Acura TSX)

"Much better value and reliability than the Audi A4 that I was looking at at the time."

Anonymous, IL (2006 Acura TSX)

"I was 100% confident, in July of 2006, when I bought it that it was the best car for me, and the best value for me, turns out I was right. It has been perfection for 12 years and 114,000 miles. Nothing has ever broken! I bargained hard on it, I think I paid 27,200 with factory navigation and I couldn’t possibly have done better on value or quality."

Anonymous, CA (2006 Acura TSX)

"Lots of features and low maintenance"

Kenneth R., NJ (2006 Acura TSX)

"It has been a great car. Very reliable with very few repairs."

C D., CA (2006 Acura TSX)

"This purchase seemed like real value for the money in 2006 and still does. Car still drives well; it's well made and consists of solid materials. Drives great."

Anonymous, CA (2006 Acura TSX)

Styling

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"Simple, understated styling that is different from other Honda products."

Anonymous, NJ (2006 Acura TSX)

"Though10 years old, still very stylish."

CARL A., KS (2006 Acura TSX)

"I feel the styling is timeless. It is a 10 year old car that still looks better than many new cars. Too bad Acura dropped the TSX line. I have no where to go with Acura."

DAVID J., UT (2006 Acura TSX)

"Sporty"
