Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"Really quiet car. Front is comfortable and ride is very nice. Acceleration is quick and nimble. Back seat space is tighter than our other car a Subaru Forester and therefore we use the Forester for longer trips."

Anonymous, NJ (2011 Audi Q5)

"Still the best handling SUV I have driven even compared to the new models"

WILLIAM P., MA (2011 Audi Q5)

"Even though I sacrifice a bit on gas mileage, I am glad I got the larger six cylinder over the four cylinder engine because overall it accelerates quicker and probably handles better as well."

DENNIS A., CA (2011 Audi Q5)

"Butter smooth transmission, always feels like it is in the best gear. Very impressed with the transmission on this car. So much that I wish I had this transmission on my other cars. The engine is great (2 liter 4 cylinder turbo). It did burn too much oil before, but it was recalled and fix for free. But still expect up to a liter of between the 5000 miles interval oil change. Handling is great (for an SUV) I sometimes can maneuver better on turns and roundabouts than even some passenger c"

ALEX J., MI (2011 Audi Q5)

"We've tuned the engine and added a tighter sway bar to this car and is an amazing drive 100k miles in."

Anonymous, VA (2011 Audi Q5)

"Good acceleration for a mid size vehicle and a 4 cylinder ./ Very good handling for a SUV. better than I expected for my first SUV"

Peter R., ON (2011 Audi Q5)

"The Audi has the best stability and handling of any car I've driven. It holds a straight line with no drift or adjustment needed. It takes 0 energy to drive. I can rapidly accelerate for passing. The is a slight hesitation on starting but once going it responds immediately."

Anonymous, NM (2011 Audi Q5)

"very stable to handle."

Anonymous, CA (2011 Audi Q5)

"It has good acceleration and rides firmly but comfortability."

Anonymous, CO (2011 Audi Q5)

"The 2.0 engine is pretty solid. We've had it tuned with a professional aftermarket tuner for 50k miles, and that added a ~20% bump to torque and horsepower for $600, which has been a fantastic investment"

Anonymous, VA (2011 Audi Q5)

"Very reliable for city and highway driving in acceleration, responsiveness and the bear visibility of any vehicle we own"

Anonymous, MD (2011 Audi Q5)

"This car drives extremely smoothly. Very big fan, which is why I purchased the second one."

Anonymous, SC (2011 Audi Q5)

"My Q5 has the 2.0 turbo. This contributes to good mileage and surprisingly has good acceleration. There is a turbo lag but it is not bad and I have no problem accelerating to freeway speeds from short on ramps. The Q5 is based on a sports car and handles like it. That is good or bad depending on your preference. It is stiffer that our Lexus and steers quicker. It has pretty good ground clearance and the suspension handles off road very well. The Q5 cannot be fitted with a tow hitch which I d..."

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Nice comfortable ride, very quiet, so quiet you actually hear other cars more than your own car. The heater has a heating element in it (I call it the blow dryer) that generates heat quickly which is great on cold days. Seats have held up very well on the car. The seats get a little cold or hot with the climate (since it is leather) but not as hot as other vehicle makes I sat in."

ALEX J., MI (2011 Audi Q5)

"Air conditioning is not sufficient for warmer climates."

SCOTT P., TX (2011 Audi Q5)

"very comfortable on the interstate"

Anonymous, FL (2011 Audi Q5)

"The ride is definitely on the sporty side of sport luxury in that it is on the firm side"

Anonymous, MA (2011 Audi Q5)

"Seats are the best. They are contoured to support the back and give maximum comfort on long drives. Intelligently engineered!"

Anonymous, AZ (2011 Audi Q5)

"Well built & very comfortable"

KARL T., ON (2011 Audi Q5)

"Very Comfortable and highly adjustable seats with low noise and sporty ride"

William P., MA (2011 Audi Q5)

"Sitting high for good visibility. Very smooth and quite quiet."

Peter R., ON (2011 Audi Q5)

"We got the Audi because of the adjustability and comfort of the seats for my wife for long trips. They are comfortable and cause less displeasure for her. I like the extra long leg room and many ways to adjust the seats. The car is very quiet and the ride exceptionally smooth."

Anonymous, NM (2011 Audi Q5)

"all 3 are excellent"

John K., WI (2011 Audi Q5)

"The Audi Q5 seats are that nice mix of tight, slightly rigid sports seats and a decent amount of cushiness. I prefer the more comfortable, slightly cushy seats and my husband prefers a more rigid, sports-type seat. The Q5 works for both of us. The Q5 is quiet and rides well. No complaints."

Anonymous, FL (2011 Audi Q5)

Anonymous, MD (2011 Audi Q5)

"The wind noise from the roof rack is rough."

Anonymous, VA (2011 Audi Q5)

"The seats are reasonably supportive and have a lot of adjust ability. The road noise is minimal and got a lot better when I replaced the Michelin tires with new Pirelli tires. The rear seats fold down almost flat which helps with cargo."

Anonymous, CA (2011 Audi Q5)

"Also a very comfortable ride with no brake noise (that the 2013 has)."

Anonymous, SC (2011 Audi Q5)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"We paid $48,000 for our new Prestige 3.2 Q5 in 2011, which seemed like a lot of money at the time, but it has turned out to be a wonderful purchase. The car is very comfortable and quiet, handles well, accelerates very briskly, and holds a lot of stuff (including our Labrador Retriever). Moreover, the only money we've spent on it in the 5+ years we've owned it (except for gas and maintenance) was for a set of brakes and a set of tires, both around 50,000 miles. It has not needed any repairs sinc"

Anonymous, CA (2011 Audi Q5)

"Good value for the vehicle"

KARL T., ON (2011 Audi Q5)

"We garage and maintain our Audi religiously and drive lees than 5000 miles per year. Even so, our Audi (bought new) has never required warranty service (excepting recalls) and has given superior service and good mileage. Great car!"

Donna I., CA (2011 Audi Q5)

"Have kept this vehicle longer than any other previously owned vehicle. Still very happy and not looking to replace it anytime soon."

William P., MA (2011 Audi Q5)

"Everything I expected from a high level mid size SUV."
