The LaCrosse is a sophisticated and thoroughly modern sedan. Quiet, roomy and luxurious, it offers responsive handling and a steady ride, qualities not normally associated with past Buicks. A 2.4-liter four-cylinder is mated to a light hybrid system which has good acceleration while returning an impressive 26 mpg overall. The refined 3.6-liter V6 (which we also tested) is smooth and delivers plenty of power.

    Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

    What Owners Say

    "Comfort and fuel economy"

    Anonymous, IA (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"I find the handling quite different than my 2005 LeSabre. It may be the AWD but It is not as smooth in the steering. I also feel the bumps in the road a little more because the tires are a smaller size with less tire surface."

    Anonymous, VT (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"not as good acceleration as my previous Lucerne"

    Anonymous, SC (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"The LaCrosse drives "like a dream". Quiet, responsive, handles great."

EDWARD B., FL (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Steering and seat comfort is outstanding!"

    Anonymous, MO (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Although it has a selectable mode of Sport or Touring, I stay in the Touring mode. The Sport mode steering is too touchy for my liking. The ride is very smooth. It is a 6 cylinder and it has excellent acceleration."

Thomas W., FL (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"The Lacrosse acceleration and handling are exceptional. The acceleration is a function of the 3.6L V-6, of course, and the handling is largely due to the wide tread width of the 20" diameter tires. In the past (80s-90s) I've owned sports cars that didn't handle as well as this sedan does. Sometimes this comes with a penalty to ride comfort but not substantially so."

John Y., WI (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Compared to my former Buick LaSabre, I have to "drive" this Buick rather than "guide" the drive. I attribute this to AWD and/or the size of the tires which are smaller than my former Buick."

    Anonymous, VT (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"I was very surprise of the acceleration of the car. It allow me to enter the flow of traffic when I entered the entrance ramp of the interstate during morning rush hour since every one does not follow the posted speed limit of the state."

    Anonymous, IL (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

    "Responsive and powerful."

Robert R., IL (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Turning radius seems a bit larger than I would like in tight spaces"

    Anonymous, MD (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Very good acceleration and driving experience up, down and around mountains. Tires shake quite a bit even after I've had them balanced a few times. The Adaptive Cruise Control is way to sensitive in applying the brakes long before you come up on a car in front even when adjusted for the closest possible setting. It can't be turned off either!"

Ray R., AZ (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Excellent acceleration and handling. Corners nicely."

Neil H., MI (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Very responsive handling and excellent acceleration. Fuel economy is also good. Trip mileage for one year was 28.1 at 21000 miles with average speed of 42 mph."

Dalton W., MO (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Fastest, best handling car ever owned."

Leonard H., FL (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"The Lacrosse handles easily, accelerates well, and holds the road in curves."

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

    What Owners Say

"Great riding car- excellent engineering. Climate control is awesome"

JOHN K., ON (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"We thought we were getting the good things--comfort, noise, ride, that we had in our little 2001 Buick Park Avenue. This one is hard to get into although it looks easy from the outside. The ride is more like a smaller car and the noise is a lot--just comparing with the Park Ave when it was new. Climate control seems ok; have only used the A/C so far. I (Colleen) do not need pillows under me to see out but I cannot see down in front of me outside. I have to guess! I am still working on the"

    Anonymous, OR (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"I had 5 Cadillac sedans, this Buick is as quiet and comfortable as any of them"

    Anonymous, FL (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Very comfortable. I am short and it is hard to find a car with bucket seats that allows me to see the front of the car. Also hard to find one that I don't have to step UP to get out of it. Older people have difficulty getting in and out of cars that sit very low."

    Anonymous, VT (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Probably the quietest vehicle I've ever driven. Seats are very comfortable and easily adjusted."

Edward B., FL (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Very comfortable ride a pleasure to drive."

Daniel M., MI (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"This is my third Lacrosse, in which i have always been pleased with the comfort, sound quality, performance, and ride. My Buick has the adaptive cruise control option. 90% of the time it operated flawless, but on occasion in hilly or curvy situations, it may apply the brakes unnecessary. When approaching a slower vehicle, you my not actually notice the reduction in speed until you look at your speed indicator. Another feature that is extremely important is the heads up display. I being on the side of old, appreciate the fact that I don't need to take my eyes off the road to check speed. I can't believe that this is not a standard item required on all cars like the backup camera has been. I had a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix, which I added this feature, which was very cost effective at the time."

Martin P., KS (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Extremely comfortable seats because they're cushy and soft."

Felicia W., AZ (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Seats very comfortable and minimal wind noise."

Shawn R., IN (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Not as quiet as I expected."

    Anonymous, CA (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"My back always hurts after driving/riding more than 2-3 hours in this vehicle. I have to use a lumbar support pillow. There is not enough control of support in the lumbar area."

    Anonymous, SC (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Seems to generate some road noise at freeway speed."

Leonard B., OR (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Fit and finish and well laid out control make for a great ride. Also very quiet."

    Anonymous, MO (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Most comfortable quietest car ever owned."

Leonard H., FL (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Very comfortable ride. Quiet ride. The driver's seat adjusts very well especially for a short driver."

    Anonymous, VT (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Probably the most comfortable car I've ever owned."

Lawrence W., GA (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Comfort of a high end car, with quiet ride and luxury appointments."

Robert R., IL (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"This is not an intermediate vehicle in size or ride quality. This is a very comfortable vehicle that preforms well gets very respectable gas mileage and is great looking. It is very quiet and smooth on the road."

Franklin E., MI (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Very difficult to get into and out of the vehicle. And I am 5 ft - 6 in tall."

    Anonymous, MI (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Six way adjustable seats allow me to position to support legs and or back.Quiet inside so no noise and suspension is wonderful."

Beverly B., PA (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"This is a very quite car but then again I almost deaf."

    Anonymous, IL (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

    "road noise is very low"

    Anonymous, NJ (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"A very comfortable vehicle. Can drive for hours. Quiet ride."

Neil H., MI (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"The ride is just one step below a Citroen DS 21 Palace but quieter."

    Anonymous, NJ (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"its inside noise is more than it should be"

John U., WI (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"They fit the body well. The seats are fully adjustable if needed. The seats are not so low as to make getting in and out difficult. The seats can be heated or cooled."

    Anonymous, PA (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Just excellent. This vehicle rides and handles well. While I wouldn't take it on a race track, it is one of the most comfortable vehicles that we have owned. The safety features, lane change warning, blind side warning, backup detection system and heads up display are worth every penny."

Franklin E., MI (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

    What Owners Say

"Did extensive research. First American car in 30 years (German previously). Compared reliability, features vs. price to Audi, Lexus, BMW, etc. Large sedans. This Buick was the clear winner. Delighted."

KENNETH H., MD (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"We couldn’t find another vehicle that offered the quality, comfort and looks in this price range."

Franklin E., MI (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Good ride, handling for this brand, nice interior, reasonably quiet, large trunk, leg room overall is good."

Robert R., CT (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"When I decided to trade in my 2008 Cadillac DTS I studied the specifications of 2016 sedans to find cars that had the features that I had in my 2008 and wanted in the 2016 (such as blind side warning, rear window sunscreen, cooled front seats, CD player, remote start, LED taillights, lane departure warning). The 2016 Buick premium Lacrosse had those plus: blue-tooth connectivity; Head-Up Display, front collision warning, back-up camera, cross traffic warning, articulating headlights, interior ambient lighting, remote key fob functions via smart phone app, and digital dashboard. Comparing similar models (Buick vs Cadillac) I found that the Buick was about $20K lower in price plus had a sensible gear shifter and easier to use infotainment system."

    Anonymous, LA (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"It has everything I wanted on a car (except automatic windshield wipers) and the price was good for all that equipment."

Thomas W., FL (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Bought in July 2016 and got 20% discount off MSRP on a near top of the line car. Very satisfied with overall quality as well as value for the money."

    Anonymous, MN (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

    "Got excellent value"

David J., RI (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Easy to drive and ONSTAR takes care of all hitech stuff."

    Anonymous, TX (2016 Buick LaCrosse)

"Excellent value for the price. A little bit more than an Impala and much less than a Cadillac ?"

Franklin E., MI (2016 Buick LaCrosse)
