Acceleration Acceleration Acceleration tests are conducted on a smooth, flat pavement straightaway at the track. Time, speed, and distance measurements are taken with a precise GPS-based device that’s hooked to a data-logging computer.

Built on a new platform, the Cadillac XT5 is a descendant of the SRX but it’s neither here nor there. Battling a field of worthy competitors, the XT5 isn't as rewarding to drive as a German compact luxury SUV, nor does it pamper you like a Lexus RX.

Like many contemporary General Motors redesigns, weight reduction was a primary goal with the XT5. Indeed, it registered 225 pounds less on our scales than the SRX. Among other things, this aids acceleration and fuel economy, neither of which were SRX strengths.

"My XT5 requires my cell phone to use driving routes, traffic, etc. It works intermittently. Repairs-trying to solve the problem have been to no avail. The day after I signed the lease, I tried to get out of it but was not permitted by dealership management. So I am stuck with it. I have driven Cadillacs since 1990 and have never experience problems that could not or would not be solved or resolved. This is, most likely, my last Cadillac. I still take advantage of the lease perks available and they have been provided graciously."

"At times, when starting on a trip then Apple Car play can't be found by the car at start up, though the Apple phone I am using the display(google maps)is active on my phone, the car can't seem Apple car play seems At times, Apple car play will stop working while I am driving, though it is still playing on my phone. Sometimes, if I disconnect the phone from the car, and then reconnect it the car then might or might not find the phone. The car sometimes switcher from Android Auto maps(which I prefer)to Apple Maps for no apparent reason. I can switch back but it is a cumbersome procedure. Pandora is erratic , and if I am using the maps ad a song is playing which I want to identify, it takes three, sometimes four touch screen operations to find the information. After finding the information I'm looking for, it takes two operations to get back to the maps(home then car play). I think there is a problem in my car's cue system which has not been identified. Most of the time the system works well, but is still very cumbersome to operate ARUGH!!!"

"Sometimes when putting transmission in Reverse the guidelines on the backup camera do not appear. This is an intermittent conditon and does not affect the ability to use the backup camera to see behind the vehicle. It seems to only occur on first starting the car and backing from the garage but has happened at other times as well. Again, it does not interfere with the use of the camera, it only affects the guidelines that are not displayed on the display."

"Dashboard screen engine light went on. The service dealer from Cadillac said it was a faulty fuel pump. I had about 750 miles on the car at that point. The new one they put in at the shop was also defective. I am now driving it with the 3rd one. Only a couple of days, it seems fine. The parking brake light also had originally gone on but hopefully that's been fixed. The car was in the service shop a total of 4 days."
