This sedan, which is based on same platform as the Buick LaCrosse and Chevrolet Impala, is luxurious, with a very spacious and well-appointed cabin and a roomy trunk. But the car lacks the silky ride you'd expect from a big Caddy, and although it handles well for its size, it doesn't have the finesse or brawn of the better German and Asian competitors.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"The XTS is very comfortable to drive. Many comfort options. The acceleration, however, is subpar."

Christopher E., WI (2017 Cadillac XTS)

"Love the look of the rear, how the bumper is designed and look of dual mufflers and tail lights, I like the updated larger Cadillac symbol--the the profile is slightly different the other sedans that quite boring. The navigation system when used for getting directions for points of interest(POI) is madding so if I forgot to address and use POI seldom can the navigation system to come up with the correct POI on the other hand I love the voice activation for tuning in radio stations. Both the drive and passenger seats are very comfortable, lumber support in both seats actually does what it is intended to do."

Anonymous, WI (2017 Cadillac XTS)

"Unexpectedly excellent, especially since it is a V6 rather than a V8. The All Wheel Drive performs better than my last two Cadillacs."

Anonymous, IL (2017 Cadillac XTS)

"Cadillac has greatly improved acceleration and handling to compete with imports."

Thomas F., NY (2017 Cadillac XTS)

"It is very responsive."
