What Owners Say
"down shifts to easy in cruise control"
RON J., WI (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"braking and steering"
Anonymous, WA (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"Getting used to the automatic gear changing plus manual mode was not so easy. Accelerating and decelerating causes some over-revving if not done correctly."
BRENDA M., CA (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"Handles good. 7,00 lb towing capacity a reason I bought.Good off-road. I own a farm."
K K., IL (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"Engine and transmission pairing is not good. Acceleration from low speeds (20-40 mph) is terrible. Have to really push the pedal down to pick up speed quickly."
THOMAS S., IL (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"excellent value, handles much like a sadan.....qualith inside and out..acceleration is outstanding...we love this truck"
SAM T., PA (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"It handles great, but the acceleration is horrible. It is never in the power band. It is always in a higher gear than it should be so it is always bogging down when I try to accelerate at a moderate speed. In order to slightly speed up, I have to floor it to make it down shift and then it accelerates appropriately. This is my only real complaint but it is so big that I almost wish I had not bought it."
Anonymous, AL (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"the truck does have a problem with acceleration. it isn't quick. takes a while to get back up to hwy speed after stopping/slowing down."
Anonymous, GA (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"The transmission will not downshift without really pushing the accelerator which makes it act doggy because in to high of a gear."
Anonymous, IN (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"The transmission shift points are erratic. When attempting to accelerate it waits waaaay toooooo long to shift down. When it finally does shift it jumps down three gears so you are at 5,000 rpm and still not going anywhere, but making allot of noise."
F J., CT (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"Seats and seat adjustments; sufficient power/acceleration."
Anonymous, WA (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"Fuel economy is very good for fairly heavy 6 cyl truck. About 17 in city and 24 on highway @70 mph. Transmission is slanted toward economy. It shifts to higher gears at low speeds. Only disconcerting feature: when you accelerate quickly from steady slower speeds the transmission shifts to lower gears and engine revs more than expected. Makes it hard to accelerate gradually. Probably a tradeoff of economy gearing."
SAMUEL N., KY (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"The transmission/engine tuning make the shifting of the transmission very strange and inappropriate.Shifting into a higher gear and being hard to shift to a lower gear when accelerating. Occasional hard shifts. It's obvious the engine/transmission tuning was biased to far toward gas mileage and away from driving performance."
L P., AL (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"Everything is good."
BARBARA L., SC (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"it is a 6 speed manual and 4 cylinder engine works very ,would not want to pull much"
Gerald B., TN (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"Very good handling and excellent AWD performance. Excellent brakes. The 3.6L engine has good power, however it needs to be driven aggressively to perform well because otherwise the transmission makes it lug. Should have been geared lower."
William G., PA (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"Acceleration is slow, almost need to floor vehicle to accomplish movement. Vehicle was purchased due to need for tow vehicle behind Motorhome. Definitely meets this requirement"
Anonymous, AL (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"The vehicles V6 engine is much more responsive then I expected when I first purchased the truck. It has been driven in the mountains in Colorado, interstate traffic and commuting to work. The excelleration for merging and passing traffic is great! And when cruising the engine is quiet!"
Anonymous, IA (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"love the acceleration. Transmission struggles at times to shift properly"
Ronald L., OH (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"The V6 offers great acceleration when merging onto highways or when passing. It handles much better than any truck I have ever owned."
Anonymous, IL (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"the engine is the V-6 with 305 HP, but the transmission very quickly shifts to the highest gear and when Truck is accelerated, it bogs down until a lot of gas is added. Have taken truck back to CHevy dealer but they claim this is how it works. Very poor acceleration due to remaining in high gears"
Donna C., TX (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"Plenty of power and acceleration. Somewhat of a quite cabin while driving. Comfortable to drive for being a midsize truck."
William H., NY (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"NO acceleration. Always in a cruising gear so if you need to speed up just a little, you have to floor it to make it downshift so you can speed up. HORRIBLE driving experience. 300 hp and it won't go unless you floor it. Totally ruins my drives which is sad because it is otherwise a great vehicle."
Anonymous, AL (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"Handles and drives very well for a truck."
Anonymous, IA (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)"After I bought the truck, the transmission had issues. It would not properly downshift. I took it back to the dealer, they worked on for one week and said it was good to go. Took it home and the same problem continued. Took it back the dealer hooked up the computer and sent the data to Chevy tech. They said the transmission was not downshifting at low speeds. I checked the internet and a lot of folks have had the same problem. I have taken it back 5 times and now they say it is a one-off probl..."
Anonymous, VA (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)
"Seems at times there is a little hesitation when pressing on the gas pedal looking for that extra power. Maybe typical of a V-6"
ROGER Q., NC (2015 Chevrolet Colorado)
