The Cruze is a solid and substantial-feeling compact car. Its taut, steady and controlled ride makes it one of the smoothest of the small sedans. Inside, it's also one of the quietest small sedans we'd tested. While gasoline-powered models have lackluster fuel economy, an efficient turbodiesel engine is also available. Inside, the nicely-finished cabin offers roomy front seats.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"Can't believe the 1.4L has such good acceleration and I am satisfied with the fuel economy"

RICHARD H., MI (2015 Chevrolet Cruze)

"The 1.6 liter turbo engine performs better than you'd expect. I previously had a 2012 Cruze. The transmission and the software controlling the transmission appear to be improved in the 2015 model. But I live in the desert southwest, and the engine seems to lose a little power in the summer heat. That comment does take into account the drain of running an air conditioner."

Anonymous, NV (2015 Chevrolet Cruze)

"It doesn't accelerate the same as a 2013 Cruze I drove."

Anonymous, MN (2015 Chevrolet Cruze)

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Hard to get into always hit my head when I get in."

R P., PA (2015 Chevrolet Cruze)

"can't get driver seat in a always comfortable position"

CHARLES W., CT (2015 Chevrolet Cruze)

"The Cobalt seems to have a more powerful A/C system than the Cruz. The Cruze is weak by comparison."

STANLEY W., NY (2015 Chevrolet Cruze)

"Too many blind spots"

Anonymous, MN (2015 Chevrolet Cruze)

"Passenger seat uncomfortable. Opening (size) very narrow."

Anonymous, NY (2015 Chevrolet Cruze)

"The seats are somewhat hard to sit on. If you use a comfort cushion, the airbag is off. Found this out on a trip this past May!"

LINDA B., IN (2015 Chevrolet Cruze)

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"relatively low cost; has many excellent features not found on higher price cars; fun to drive; excellent maintenance program"

Anonymous, ON (2015 Chevrolet Cruze)

"It gives us great gas milage! 38mpg on the Interstate when we travel to California to visit our grandchildren! You can certainly buy a car that gets better gas milage then my Cruze but you will end up paying about double the price I paid for my Cruze! Great value for the money!"

DANIEL D., WA (2015 Chevrolet Cruze)

"I use this as a work car. Very good on gas and looks great for the price."

TERESA S., GA (2015 Chevrolet Cruze)

Percentage of owners who would definitely purchase that same vehicle again. Owner-satisfaction Ratings are determined by the percentage of those who answered "definitely yes" to the question asked by the Consumer Reports Annual Auto Survey "Considering all factors (price, performance, reliability, comfort, enjoyment, etc.), would you get this car if you had to do it all over again?". If we don’t have sufficient data, a similar model might be used to form the owner-satisfaction score.
