2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Owner Satisfaction - Consumer Reports
The Silverado 2500 HD (for "heavy duty") and its near twin GMC Sierra 2500 are true rough and tumble workhorses, but with enough creature comforts and modern amenities, they serve as versatile mobile workplaces. High points include a diesel powertrain that's cultured and brawny, and an intuitive infotainment system. However, for day-to-day comfort, we'd avoid the super-stiff Z71 suspension.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Lee S., CA (2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD)

"Very good acceleration, plenty of power. Handels rough curvey roads with ease. Pull a 34 foot fifth wheel with ease while maintaining reasonable mileage"

Westley H., OR (2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD)

"Great power for pulling our fifthwheel. MPG is good but not great while towing but excellent when it is not towing. Handling and comfort are great, except padding in lower seat. Truck is easy to control in all types of weather and off road."

Tom H., MB (2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD)

"Overall the Silverado 2500hd 6.0 is enjoyable to drive. The IFS makes it handle similar to a half ton truck when compared to Ford or Ram solid front axle. 6.0 vortec provides adequate power but will not win any competitions when compared to Ford’s 6.2 and Ram’s 6.4 gas engines. Fuel mileage is consistent 14 mpg (mix hwy and city). Towing an 8500 lb travel trailer in the Midwest I average 9 to 11 mpg."

Shaun M., IA (2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD)

"Radio and touch screen goes black so metimes when you first start up. Nav system also go black. Can not idle for very long glow pugs will foul out. Bad place to fill the DEF. got to use a laddler to reach it."
